I recently came across this talented artist and wanted to take a moment to share his work. I love the artwork he has created. Take a moment and check out his project. Thank you Dan for letting me post your work here.

“My name is Dan Aragon, I’m twenty-seven and am a self-taught artist from San Jose, California. I’ve been working in the videogame industry for the last seven years doing Quality Assurance and Testing for software on console and mobile games. I was laid-off earlier this year and have decided to seize this new-found free time as an opportunity to improve my art and finally move into the career path I’ve always wanted as a Concept/Character Artist.
I’ve been drawing since I was very young and have always enjoyed horror movies. When I was in high school I had a reputation for creating a lot of dark and twisted characters and images. As I got older, I branched out a lot more and tried to diversify my abilities and stayed away from the more macabre stuff for years. My skills have grown a lot since the last time I focused on darker subject matter, so I want to challenge myself and see what I can create now.
’31 Monsters’ is a challenge for myself to illustrate an original monster each day in October. I was initially inspired by my wife who is creating 31 Halloween-inspired Makeup looks and photographing self-portraits top showcase them. The goal of the project for me is to increase the speed at which I work and to create a unified style by repeating the same base process with each illustration. I am also a pretty easily distracted person and tend to lose interest in projects quickly and not complete them. By holding myself to strict deadlines, I aim to create a significant body of work that showcases what I am capable of completing with limited time.
With the Indiegogo project, I hope to gain enough support to have ’31 Monsters’ printed as a hard cover book that I can use as a tool to market myself and showcase my artwork to potential employers. I’ve created a lot of perks for backers of the project that include custom illustrations and various printed materials of the illustrations in the project.”
